My name is Jesus Morfa, I was born and raised in Cuba. I grew up playing outside, in the rain, in the sun, at night; ate everything and anything, which translates to: whatever we could find. Foods weren't what you would call healthy, but the constant exercise and the typical teenage metabolism kept me slim and fit. I was very fortunate to move to the U.S.A. when I was 20. This was the beginning of my eating rampage. I ate EVERYTHING and then some more. I started to work and registered for college classes, I needed days longer than 24 hours to fit my schedule, but sadly none of it was physical activity or healthy eating and I blew up.
My passion for the sciences led me to become an engineer. In engineering school I was taught that in order to predict the outcome of any project, results have to be tracked. In other words, you have to start somewhere in order to say your system or project improved/changed (or not). My knowledge grew a lot during those school years and so did my body...sideways
My interest in nutrition and fitness started as a consequence of my declining health, those days, when eating a pizza at 2 AM had not effect on my body, were no more. My routine check-ups were going from bad to worse as the years passed, and I was young. The final straw was drawn when my doctor advised me to start taking medication to control my cholesterol... NO WAY! I said...THIS WAS MY PROJECT STARTING POINT.
So I began my journey, and as the law of cause and effect states: All actions have consequences and produce specific results, as do inactions. Fitness was an effect of the action. I killed two birds with one stone (not literally, of course), I got fit AS I got healthy...
I have tracked the progress I have made in both my health and fitness, I can not imagine where I would be today if I had not decided to make a change... I LOST 70 LBS IN ONE YEAR!!!!
SO...WHY CREATE FIXED BODY?
As I worked on fixing my own health problems, I grew a passion for health, nutrition & fitness...IN THAT ORDER. I discovered that if your goal is to be healthy, you have to find a healthy but balanced nutrition plan (which doesn't mean bad tasting foods). Long hours at the gym are not required., and I know some fitness money makers will disagree, but hey, I can prove them wrong. I am living proof that once a body is being properly fed the exercise needed to stay fit is minimal.
Now, there were failures and frustrations. Some of the programs I followed (for lack of better knowledge) were intense and did not yield significant results. Same thing with foods, eating some healthy foods led me to break diets and go crazy on junk food. Believe me, most healthy and physically fit people do not love to eat bad tasting foods, nor like enduring pain while exercising (myself included). But what if you didn't have to follow painful and uncomfortable routines or diets? Guess what, you don't have to. And I don't mean you will get results by sitting on your couch and eating pizza every day; let's be real, if we could stay healthy by sitting, watching TV and eating junk food, my couch would have a hole in it.
